FAQ
-
Will therapy help me feel and do better?Therapy can be a valuable tool for improving your well-being, but it's essential to remember that its success largely depends on your commitment and effort. By actively participating in sessions and working to address your concerns, you can make meaningful progress. We will guide you in exploring deep-rooted issues, reframing irrational thoughts, and adopting healthier behaviors. When you're dedicated to the process, you're more likely to experience positive changes in how you feel and function.
-
How long will I need to be in therapy? The duration of therapy varies depending on individual needs and goals. Some clients benefit from short-term therapy, while others require more time to address complex issues. We'll collaborate to establish a personalized plan tailored to your unique circumstances and regularly assess your progress to ensure you're receiving the support you need.

It's essential to weigh these factors when deciding whether to use insurance for therapy.

Does your practice only see Black women and women of color? Our practice is open to EVERYONE; however, we SPECIALIZE in supporting Black women and women of color. We understand the unique challenges faced by these individuals and are committed to providing culturally competent care that addresses their specific needs. We believe in prioritizing the wellness and health of Black women and women of color to foster a supportive and empathetic environment that may not be readily available elsewhere. Before beginning therapy or coaching, we assess all clients to ensure that we can effectively meet their needs and that they are a good fit for our practice. If we determine that we might not be the best match for any reason, we maintain a list of licensed therapy professionals and can provide referrals as needed. This way, we ensure that every client receives the appropriate care and support for their personal journey.
-
What are the costs of therapy services and what forms of payment do you accept? We accept both self-pay clients and insurance clients. Our self-pay rate is $180 per session. We currently accept Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and Blue Cross Blue Shield. We also accept HSA’s (Health Savings Account).
-
Do you offer consultations?Absolutely! Before you decide if you’d like to move forward with services, we can schedule a free 15 min consultation to discuss your needs. We want to ensure we give you the best care possible, so the consultation will ensure we’re a good fit. If not, we’ll happily refer you to someone or somewhere that may be a better fit!
-
What are your hours? The practice hours are Monday- Friday from 9am-5pm. However, your therapist may have individual hours that will be shared with you during your free consultation.

How long will I need to be in coaching?Like therapy, the length of time spent in coaching depends on your specific needs and objectives. Coaching can be short-term, focusing on a particular goal or challenge, or extend over a longer period for ongoing support and personal growth. We'll work together to determine a coaching plan that aligns with your goals and reassess your progress throughout the process to ensure you're on the right path.
